For what purpose is income certificate used?
- Helps in getting special scholarships from educational institutions.
- Backward Classes get special reservation in colleges and universities.
- This certificate plays an important role in getting credit from government banks and various government schemes
- Old Age Pension, Widow Pension Assistance, Kunvarbai’s Matter, Ayushman Bharat Card Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, and Agricultural Workers Pension will be given on the basis of income.
Document to prove income
Documents required to obtain Gujarat Income Certificate are given below:
Address proof (any one is mandatory):
- Ration card
- Electricity bill
- Water Bill (not older than three months)
- Gas connection
- Bank Passbook
- Post Office Account Statement / Passbook
- Driving license
- Government Photo ID Cards / Service Photo Identity Card issued by Public Sector Undertakings (PSU).
Identity Proof (anyone is mandatory):
- Election Card
- aadhar card
- PAN card
- Passport
- Identity card issued by a recognized educational institution.
- Income proof (any one is mandatory):
- Employer Certificate (if employed in Government, Semi Government or any Government Undertaking) If Salaried (Form 16-A and ITR for last three years) If in Business (Business ITR and Balance Sheet of Business for last 3 years) Declaration before Talati (Service related )
How to apply offline to get proof of income?
First you have to collect all the documents and then you have to go to Taluka Panchayat or Mamlatdar office and from there they will give you a form and you have to fill the form and attach it with the documents and then the employee will check your document and take your photo and then in it You will get your income proof shortly after signing the coin.
How to apply online to get proof of income?
- STEP 1 : Please visit the Digital Gujarat website to apply online for income statement. https://www.digitalgujarat.gov.in/
- STEP 2 : To register in this page please click on “Login” option on the right corner of the page.
- STEP 3 : Now click on “Click For New Registration (Citizen)”.
- STEP 4 : Fill the registration form and click on “Save”.
- STEP 5 : Now enter the received OTP in the textbox and click on “Confirm”.
- STEP 6 : After successful registration, please click on “Request a New Service”.
- STEP 7 : Now click on “Income Certificate” which is applicable to you as shown in the photo.
- STEP 8 : Now read the instructions and guide carefully. Then click on “Continue to Service”.

- STEP 10 : Please fill the applicant information details and click “Next”.

- Please make payment using either of the two options: e-wallet, gateway.
- STEP 14 : The citizen will get an SMS for the status of his application.
- STEP 15 : Once completing the application process, the user should use the application number to get the certificate using the downloaded document option.
